Time Goes By

Not much has been happening around here besides taking care of Ava while Emily works. The other day she decided the fabric horns on the back of her monster walker looked good to chew on. I remember the first time I put her in that walker her toes barely touched the carpet! Now she's flat footed and moves it around all over the place!

I was at the store this afternoon and came across these little gems. They come in all sorts of flavors besides brownie, like blueberry muffin and banana bread. I tried one of the brownie ones tonight and oh my goodness was it good! At least this way I'm not tempted to eat a whole pan of brownies! lol

Time has gone by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday I had four months to wait until my vacation in Florida, and now we're leaving next week! This will be our home away from home for seven wonderful days and I can't wait to get there. It's going to be so nice to have the beach right across the street from out little cottage.

More About Ava

Not much sewing going on here. I did get the baby quilt finished and gifted. Just in time too because the baby will be coming any day now.

Here's Ava wearing the new boots she got for Christmas! They go great with her little jeans! Momma and Grandma both wear boots, so I decided Ava needed a pair too. :0)

My mom made Ava a sweet little dress before she was born. It's a little cold here for her to wear it now, but now is when it fits so we got a picture of her in it the other day. It's so cute on her! I love her tongue sticking out! lol

Ava's started eating real foods now. She's done carrots and yesterday she tried her first peas. She seemed to love them both. Squash will be next on the menu.

December Already?

Well, I completely missed posting anything in November. Some days I wonder if I should even keep this blog going. I guess it doesn't hurt if it just sits here but at the same time why have it if I'm not going to post on it.

Anyway, I have a baby quilt to make. I'm using cheater fabric because I don't know if the quilt will be taken care of or not, and I hated to spend a lot of time sewing if it was just going to get trashed (long story). I found some cute flannel and decided to just use the two layers of flannel and tie them together. I think it's going to be adorable when it's done.

I decided it was time for a new Christmas tree this year. I've always loved Alpine trees and since I'm in an apartment now, it just made sense to go with the smaller tree. It's all decorated in turquoise and silver...that's new for this year too. Once Christmas is over I'll take the ornaments off and leave the tree where it's at with just the white lights on it.

I've been desperately trying to get back to Florida for a vacation, and I've finally managed to get a place booked for April. This little apartment is right across the street from the beach. I have a feeling I'm not going to want to leave once I get there! lol

And I couldn't post without adding a picture of Ava. She'll be four months old on Friday.

No sewing yet, but...

Look at Miss Ava...she's already trying to get the hang of crawling and she's not even three months old yet! Sometimes she seems so grown up already.

Last Saturday was my mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary. They didn't want a party so we just took them out to eat. And then I got them a certificate for a night away at the Charm Countryview Inn Bed and Breakfast in Amish country. If you want to see pictures of their little trip away, you can find them on my mom's blog HERE.

It seems like everyone who comes to my house gets to nap while they're here. I think I need to get in on that too! lol

No sewing yet but I do have several projects I need to get working on. A friend of Emily's is expecting a baby in January, so a baby quilt will be first on my list. I hope to get the fabric for it either tomorrow or Monday so I can get started.

Ava is growing up so fast already. She was 7 weeks old on Wednesday. She's such a happy girl when she's not mad about something. And when she's mad about something, she quickly lets us know!! LOL

The other day it was a bit cool and momma hadn't brought any pants or socks for her. So I let her borrow a pair of my socks. They look a bit like legwarmers on her but they did the job! LOL

We had quite a pretty sunset here the other night. Actually we've had quite a few pretty sunsets since I moved in here, but I normally don't think to get a picture of them.

I do want to apologize for not posting on here and for not commenting on your blogs. I do read them every day, but my computer time has been limited as I've spent a lot of time taking care of Ava. Emily has gone back to work now so I'll be seeing even more of Ava, which I dearly love, but it definitely cuts into the time I have for other things. And right now (well, always actually) Ava and Emily are more important than anything else.
